Use this music to Change your life

I make music to raise the collective vibrational frequency of the listener, and of the world. The music is a tool for transformation. Each piece is a unique expression of one of the five Chinese Elements, of which we are all created, and serves as a foundation for personal meditation practice.  

Think of meditation as putting a agitated snow globe down on a flat surface.  Over time, through stillness, the turbidity settles and you are able to see clearly through the snow globe.  Meditation works in the same way, settling internal distractions, and revealing true clarity in your life.

The songs tell the story of the five elements. 

The Ancient Masters of the East observed recurring patterns in nature, medicine, music, human affairs, and all aspects of life. They categorized these observations into the Five Phases, or Elements. Each Element holds distinctive characteristics, attributes, tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses, setting it apart from the others.

The Masters believed if we could observe the Five Elements in nature and see these patterns of truth reflected within our own selves, then we would have the wisdom to be in harmony with nature, others, and ourselves.

When you listen to the songs in the order of the “nourishing” cycle --: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Qi--, ,you will subconsciously learn the teaching and patterns of the elements. This is not a conscious understanding, because the language is music, not thought. The teachings are all woven into the melodies, harmonies, mantras, orchestration, tension, release, transformation, and other musical elements, while maintaining the perfect tempo and timing for meditation and practice.
 

  • Meditation only works when you do it. Each song is five minutes: Sit in stillness for just one song each day, and you will reap the benefits of this practice.
     
  • The tempo is one beat per second: The bell rings every four seconds. Listen for the bell, when you hear it, inhale. When you hear it again, exhale. Use the bell to regulate your breath. Do not anticipate the bell, just wait for it and breathe. It will come. 
     
  • When practicing qigong, yoga, tai chi, etc., wait for the bell to go onto your next movement. The gong sounds every minute to be used as a gentle timer in your practice.

"The most Elegant Meditation music you have ever experienced"

 

Jason’s unique perspective comes from both a mastery of music and mastery of the ancient Taoist health and cultivation arts. His meditation and Zen training began as a child through music. The purpose of all his music is to raise the collective vibrational frequency by using it as a tool for meditation, tai chi, yoga and qigong.  

Currently a 7th degree black belt, Jason first trained in the musical arts composing, performing  and arranging music of many styles including classical, contemporary rock, jazz, and new age. As a teenager he performed regularly with his band, played the piano for the school choir, taught bass, piano, and music theory, and had the opportunity to tour France with a choir group, playing the organ in some of the great cathedrals.

He attended Berklee College of music in Boston, graduated magma cum laude with degrees in composition and film scoring, and received a scholarship to study composition and conducting at the Rotterdam Conservatory in Europe, and was the assistant conductor of the Brookline Symphony Orchestra. In his late teens he discovered martial arts, yoga, tai chi, and meditation, and studied these disciplines simultaneously throughout college while pursuing his musical degrees.

After college he was working both as a musician, teaching, arranging, scoring films, and performing, while simultaneously running a martial art studio teaching kung fu, yoga, tai chi, qi gong, and meditation. 

It was during this time he decided to focus primarily on his personal cultivation through the Taoist arts, building up a wellness organization (Zen Wellness) and raising a family. 

20 years later, he came back to composition. This time with a focus on integrating five element and Taoist teachings into the music, and arranging it in a way to be used for meditation, tai chi, and qigong.
